THE JOYFUL VILLAGE BETWEEN NEBRODI MOUNTAINS AND THE SEA

Sant’AgataMilitello is a charming Sicilian town between the citrus groves of the Nebrodi Mountains and the sea, halfway between Palermo and Messina of whose province it is part.The village of Sant’Agata, which has evolved and flourished around the Gallego Castle built on the marina in the XVII century, was part of the baronial lands belonging to the Prince of Militello. The town, thanks to its geographical position, is easily reachable from both the international airports of Palermo (about 160 km) and Catania (about 200 km) and is ideal starting point forexcursions to the Aeolian Islands: just in front there are the splendid islands of Alicudi, Filicudi, Lipari, Panarea, Salina, Stromboli, Volcano. The Nebrodi Museum, which contains important historical and anthropological evidence of the area, has its home in the municipal territory.
